You will hear a lot of news today that no one will be coming to Australia from Manus and Nauru

Peter Dutton has said “We want to get women and children off Nauru as quickly as possible”. (Then get everyone else off).

You will hear a lot of news today about the Prime Minister announcing that no one will be coming to Australia from Manus and Nauru.

We hope that they want to put those laws in place so you can go to a good third country soon.

Ham Burger
Ham Burger Saw the press conference this morning. Turnbull spent most of it whingeing about the mess let by Labor in 2013. Newsflash buddy, your mob have been in power 3 years and you’ve done nothing but make the situation worse by militarising the immigration department, turning back boats at sea, and leaving everyone in detention to be tortured and in some cases die. Now a press conference just to announce a bill that does nothing but reaffirm your policy that they can’t be brought here? What a sick joke. We’d get more inspiring leadership from a dirty toilet bowl.

Sheila Ryan
Sheila Ryan Not Happy Mr.Turnbull.I want no part of your cruelty.

Veronica Forsayeth
Veronica Forsayeth They’re probably pissed off that the refugees haven’t all perished by now.

Cathy Galey
Cathy Galey If conditions for refugees on Nauru and Manus are so good (as we are repeatedly assured) won’t those two islands soon be inundated with boat people clamouring to live there?

Kelly Bagdon
Kelly Bagdon Hoping you find a permanent safe home soon, I wish they would allow you to come to us here

Mimibaba Shields
Mimibaba Shields 💔my heart is broken for the children in detention on Nauru… but I concede that these people would still be vilified in this bloody minded political battle field of Australia right now? I feel so helpless & ashamed to be Australian when I think about their plight 😒😥

Jenny Coutts
Jenny Coutts Refugees in community detention in Australia are also in limbo and unable to get on with their lives due not being allowed to work and study. For your chance of a safe and fulfilled life, I sincerely hope an understanding and humane country offers you true refuge.

Anne Tichborne
Anne Tichborne I take this as a sign that the LNP are more than ever embarrassed by the situation they have created. They’re probably hoping this new law will encourage people on Nauru and Manus to accept refoulement or resettlement under existing arrangements.

Joan Taylor
Joan Taylor Men are vulnerable too.

Jean Litow
Jean Litow Shameful. This government and the opposition sink ever lower.

Chai Ang
Chai Ang This government is the pits.

Alec Tibbitts
Alec Tibbitts The very inappropriately named “Liberal” Party can introduce a law that bans refugees from Australia forever on a whim, but can’t introduce legislation for same sex marriage without asking every Australian.

Katherine Banks
Katherine Banks These people need to be saved. Ashamed of our government.

Maddy Jones
Maddy Jones Bugger that, refugees should be able to come here.
